“Photojournalism in 3D for VR and Beyond” utilizes modern approaches to making 3D images by testing various software and creating journalism use cases using an ancient photography technique.
In recent years 3D scanners have been introduced to the market for use with virtual and augmented reality technology. While their functionality is not directly related to journalism, media companies are exploring these technologies for use as reporting tools.
Our project will produce stories using photogrammetry techniques in addition to a comprehensive use cases for newsrooms examining software, methodology and execution of photogrammetry for VR as a reporting tool.
